Graduating From Indiana Tech

Indiana Tech students must submit a Petition for Graduation and $50 fee in order to earn their degree. Petition deadlines are February 1 for spring and summer graduates, and October 1 for fall graduates.

Submit a Petition for Graduation

After your Petition for Graduation is received by the university registrar, you will have an opportunity to review your degree audit showing which classes are left to be completed for your degree. All students will receive three emails over a one week period.

  • The first email will confirm receipt of their petition.
  • The second email will inform the student of their commencement designation if they chose to participate in the ceremony.
  • The third email will be the students’ degree audit for review for accuracy.
    • Traditional Day students advisors will be carbon copied with the student’s degree audit. If the advisor has any substitutions they will reach out to the registrar’s office.

The graduation process is complete after the student has achieved academic and financial clearance to graduate.

Qualifications for Commencement

Commencement designations are determined at the time of the students petition.

  • Traditional Day students must have no more than 9 credits or an internship remaining on their degree after the spring semester.
  • Undergraduate College of Professional Studies students must have no more than 15 credits remaining on their degree by March 31st.
